The long-awaited 91st Academy Awards Ceremony of film lovers from all over the world took place in Los Angeles and the evening was marked by several “first times.” If the nominations put forward “the Favorite,” “A Star is Born,” “Roma” and “Vice,” the sacred film this year is “Green Book – on the roads of the South.” Discover all the happy winners and their glorious photos.

Last year, the American Academy of cinema arts and sciences chose to recognize Guillermo del Toro’s feature film, The Shape of water with 4 awards, including that of the best film. For its 91st edition held in Los Angeles on February 24, 2019, the big winner is Green Book, winning the prestigious trophy for Best Film. Alfonso Cuaron makes a beautiful return after the coronation of Gravity thanks to Roma. Technically, Bohemian Rhapsody won with the Oscar for Best Actor for Rami Malek.

‘Green Book,’ the film directed by Peter Farrelly, won the award for the best film of the year in the 91st edition of the Oscars beating the great favorite, ‘Rome’ of Alfonso Cuarón. Mexican Alfonso Cuaron thus became the first director to obtain the statuette of the best photography for Roma. This intensely personal drama, shot in black and White, also won the Oscar of the best director and the Oscar of the best foreign film, hailing at the post a family affair of Hirokazu Kore-eda, who received the Palme d’Or in Cannes in May 2018 and the César of the best foreign film last Friday. The Mexican filmmaker’s film won three awards: Best Direction, Best Photography, and best non-English-speaking film. Identical loot had ‘Green Book,’ which it did, along with the award for best film, with the Oscar for the best supporting actor and the Oscar for the best original script.

The other big winner of the night was ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ the biopic of Freddie Mercury, which took home four Oscars: best editing, best sound editing, best sound mixing and best actor for Rami Malek.

Although the whole world seemed to assume that Rome would take the Oscar 2019 Award for best film, the award finally went to Green Book. The Mexican Alfonso Cuarón has been recognized as The Best Director and the film as the best non-English-speaking film.

The award for Best Actress has gone to English actress Olivia Colman for her leading role in the favorite and Best Actor to Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody) in some Oscars without a presenter that has been somewhat slow and anodyne.

The other great winners of the evening were performer Regina King, who has taken the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for the Blues of Beale Street and Mahershala Ali, the Supporting Actor, for Green Book. We’ll leave you the list of all Oscar winners. These are the winners of the 91st Academy Awards.

An Oscar for Spider-Man – Two years after Moonlight, Mahershala Ali won a second Oscar for Best Supporting Role for her performance of pianist Don Shirley in Peter Farrelly’s Green Book. Regina King received the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for whether Beale Street Could Talk About Barry Jenkins.

Long snubbed by the Academy, Lee finally received his first Oscar in competition, in the category of Best adaptation for BlacKkKlansman. Ignored in the Best Actress category, singer Lady Gaga won the Oscar for Best Original Song for the musical ballad Shallow from the film A Star is Born.

The Oscar for the best-animated film was awarded to Spider-Man: New Generation by Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti, and Rodney Rothman. His co-director Peter Ramsey was the first black director to win the award. The first woman to make a short film Pixar, Dome Shi won the Oscar for the best animated short for the delicious Bao, presented at the cinema with the Indestructibles 2.

For the first time in more than thirty years, two black women won an Oscar in a Category other than Best Actress: Ruth E. Carter (costumes) and Hannah Beachler (sets) were rewarded for their work on the blockbuster Black Panther, allowing Marvel studio to get its first two statuettes.
